Video series 3: The home search

Starting your home search
You have your MVM folder in one hand and the pre approval in another which means it’s time to start looking for “the” one.  Prior to our house hunt together it’s important to keep a few things in mind as it will ensure that we move along as efficiently as possible.  They are as follows:
  1. Neighborhood:  If you are completely unsure about the neighborhood try making some time to check it out prior to seeing the property.  You may not like the dynamics of the neighborhood which means we can spend more time looking at ones that fit your lifestyle & budget best.
  2. Open houses:  Before you head out on your own make sure that you inform Olga & Vanessa about any open houses that you’d like to go too.  Vanessa or Olga will simply try to accommodate the open house into their schedule or call the listing agent beforehand in order to eliminate any confusion or doubt that you are in fact being represented by a buyers agent.
  3. Walk through:  Unless given permission to do so it’s common courtesy not to open closets, drawers, or take pictures during your walk through.  There are some sellers who get very upset or uncomfortable with “strangers” rummaging through their belongings or taking pictures so it’s best that we ask before getting too comfortable.
  4. Notes:  It’s easy to loose focus so try your best to eliminate any sources of distraction.  Refer back to your notes to confirm if the property you are looking at meets your needs and falls within your budget.  Have questions?  Speak to Vanessa or Olga so they can help walk you through it.
